This portage survived the last few fires and it was nice to see some green trees. I really liked this portage. There is a good elevation change, so when the water is high, the falls would be very scenic. It was low water and a rock garden when I passed through. Both entrances are marked with tree blazes. It was in perfect shape when I went through. No clearing required. *Note: The WCPP Chrismar map marks the creek to the west of this portage as "Seasonally Shallow". I went through this creek during really low water and found it to be ok and plenty deep enough to paddle. The only negative is the slow progress due to many "S" curves that are common for this kind of creek.*
