I'm not sure if this trail has been maintained since the RED03 fires of 2016. If not, it could be a difficult portage. UPDATE: It hasn't. In 2022 this portage was a lot of work, we traveled from Jake to Mexican Hat. It's navigable but don't expect a highway! See photos.

As part of a day trip into WCPP, I cleared this portage with a handsaw in May 2021 and marked it with orange flagging tape. The standing burned deadfall is still coming down and the small jack pine are getting taller, so this will be an ongoing issue for this path.
