checked out the site but ended up going for the one on the small island on the south side of the lake instead.
site was hidden behind trees on the side of the portage trail but was also very open where the tent pads were.
visited on a hot dry day and decided against staying because of the sheer lack of breeze and intense sun on the tent pads.

There is a good takeout on the north side of the peninsula; the site is on the south side, next to the rapids. Small site, good kitchen area

stopped for lunch in September 2014. There are several huge blowdowns in the site rendering it useful only in an emergency.

Very flat, very easy elevation. Fire pit on SE side. Landing on SE as you enter river. Enough forest between firepit area and west to protect from west winds. Huge White pine. Lots of fish action around mouth of river.

awesome westward facing campsite at mouth of darky river. pine needle bed to most of area. large rock plateau on west side
