Easy access to the water. A very peaceful place to enjoy ducks, geese and beaver working. The view is excellent. Some low wood plants that take time to clean before you can set tents if there's more than one tent in your group.

Obviously this site is burned out pretty bad now, but one can tell that this was a very special site in its day and it will be again. We stopped here for another snack and rest. This site is on a protruding point facing west into a beautiful little lake. There are a handful of surviving trees here. I would stay if pacing had allowed it. We were trying the trail in one night (two days) so we needed to push for Lake 3.
